6.1/1 (961.96 ha Index 79)
It is located in the Cuchilla de Santa Ana. The relief is made up of somewhat rocky sedimentary hills at times with associated scarps on the edges of the interfluves; The slopes are around 10%. The dominant soils are Eutric (Subeutric) Melanic Lithosols with a clay loam texture, dark grayish brown color, well drained and high fertility. Typical Eutric Brunosols (Praderas Pardas) appear associated, moderately deep, with a silty clay loam texture, a very dark grayish brown color, well drained and high fertility. The vegetation is summer meadow; The use is pastoral and agriculture is not feasible. This group corresponds to the Cuchilla de Santa Ana unit on the 1:1.000.000 scale chart (DSF).
6.13 (954.82 ha Index 144)
It is located in the Tres Puentes area, on both sides of Arroyo Corrales, around Lapuente and up to Villa Indart. The relief is made up of strong and gentle hills, with slopes between 2 and 4%. The dominant soils are Subeutric Haplic Brunosols, superficial (Regosols), dark brown in color, clay loam texture, well drained and medium fertility and Typical Subeutric Brunosols (Medium Brown Grasslands) moderately deep, dark brown in color, loamy texture, to clay loam. , well drained and average fertility. The vegetation is winter meadow. The current use is mainly wintering. Agriculture can be done with intensive conservation measures. This group makes up the Three Bridges unit of the letter at a scale of 1:1.000.000. (DSF).
G03.21 (553.98 ha Index 83)
It includes the medium and high plains, whether or not adjacent to drainage routes. The slopes are practically 0%, although there may be mesorelief. The soils are District Planosols Ocric Umbric, with a variable texture but generally loam to sandy loam, deep with variable colors and imperfect drainage. Associated are Typical Subeutric Brunosols (hydromorphic Brown Grasslands), with loamy textures, dark, deep colors and imperfect drainage. There may be a small percentage of Ochric Solodized Solonetz. These soils do not suffer, except in exceptional cases, from flooding, but due to their poor drainage they can be waterlogged for some time. The vegetation is hydrophilic, clean grassland and summer meadow. The use is pastoral, mainly in summer. They are areas suitable for rice cultivation, which is currently done but on a small scale.
8.5 (406.17 ha Index 105)
This group is made up of two soil associations. a) The first occupies large areas between the Corrales and Mangueras streams (Department of Rivera). The relief is made up of non-rocky sedimentary hills and steep hills, with slopes between 5 and 8%. The geological material is made up of red sandstones from the Yaguari formation. The dominant soils are Albic Ochrylic Acrisols (Sandy Grasslands), deep, dark brown in color, sandy loam texture, imperfectly drained and extremely low fertility, and Abruptic Melanic District Argisols (Sandy Grasslands), moderately deep, very dark grayish brown in color. , imperfectly drained and very low fertility. The vegetation is summer meadow with few fine species, low production and acute winter crisis. Agriculture can be done with intense conservation measures. It corresponds to the Hose Knife unit on the chart at a scale of 1:1.000.000 (DSF). b) The second association is located between the Zapallar and Sarandi streams, in the Department of Cerro Largo. The geological material is made up of red sandstones from the Yaguari formation or sandstones redeposited on it. The relief is non-rocky sedimentary hills and steep hills with slopes of 5 to 10%. The dominant soils are moderately deep Melanic ALbic Luvisols (Sandy Prairies), dark brown in color, sandy loam texture, imperfectly drained and very low fertility. Associated are Albic Umbrian Luvisols (Sandy Grasslands), very deep, dark brown in color, sandy loam texture, imperfectly drained and extremely low fertility. The vegetation is summer meadow, but better than that of the other groups in zone 8, which allows for a complete cycle and wintering. Agriculture can be done with intense conservation measures. It corresponds to the Zapallar unit on the chart at a scale of 1:1.000.000 (DSF).
